Did you know, there have been several studies that show saturated fats, in excess, can increase your LDL cholestrol which results in a greater risk of heart disease? This basically means, saturated fats are bad for you in excess. Excess is anything over 10% of your total caloric intake, usually 20-25g. Additionally, consuming refined carbohydrates with or in place of saturated fat has similar, if not greater, risks of heart disease.
