The tax you refer to is Income Tax. If you already have money, it is not taxed except on the capital gains and death tax if any is left. Taxing the Rich is such a misnomer, it should be Taxing Everybody Who Wants To Get Rich. I don't know about you but I want at least a fair opportunity to get rich. In my opinion if you don't, you are already rich or you have just given up and either way, you don't want other people to have that chance. The revenues to the government are the highest they have ever been. We don't have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.
